HIGHLIGHTS
Healthcare/Medicare Seminar: Hosted by JC3 Healthcare Community; “Wellness for All Generations” offered workshops on cardiac issues and diabetes, hospice care, and changes in Medicare. The seminar included a kid’s camp, free blood pressure and blood sugar screenings, chair massages, and flu shots.
Marriage Fellowship – 25 people attended the first couple’s fellowship for married and engaged couples on Oct 30 to allow them to get to know each other better and create possible friendships internally and externally DeSoto Staff Appreciation Day - In appreciation for DeSoto ISD campus staff and their recent accomplishments, JC3 served lunch to all DeSoto ISD campus staff at Ruby Young, Woodridge Elementary, and The Meadows Elementary Schools. Lunch was sponsored by The Diner in Uptown Village (Cedar Hill, TX). A special thanks to the 36 disciples who showed up to serve. The staff was very grateful and appreciative of our hospitality and our service.
Business Expo – JC3 sponsored a community job fair and business expo to allow members to promote their businesses within the church and to give members an opportunity to interview for available jobs from perspective employers. Business and Career Workshops were presented and included the following topics: 1) How To Sell Yourself on Paper 2) How can “Score” Help You, and 3) Grant Writing. A Career Services section provided resume reviews, interview preparation and career resources. A Prayer Room was provided to attendees who wanted prayer. A Panel discussion on business opportunities within DeSoto and How to find Funding for your Business included: Desoto City Council James Zander, Eve Williams and Anthony Denning (Mountain view College). There were three employers who showed up and two participating schools.
Girls Night Out – 13 ladies went out for a night on the town to see the movie, “For Colored Girls” and shared dinner, discussion, and fellowship at Chili’s restaurant.
Memorial of Light Service - 20 people lit a candle in honor of a lost loved one during the service. Several people lit candles for more than on lost loved one.

: An average of 10 people participated and prayed, read scripture, sang songs, and played games with residents.
